Minutes:
    7:30pm: Holiday Greetings   Evelyn Van Orden, President    15 members were present, plus 4 family guests.
    A. Minutes    Marsha Stoddard
        1. The minutes of the November meeting were posted on the website and a hardcopy provided at the meeting. They were approved.
    B. Treasurer's Report    Jerri Nicol
        1. The balance in our treasury is $908.73 (no change since last month).
    C. Philanthropy    Judy Gregory, VP Philanthropy
        1. Judy reported that Afghans for Afghans announced a campaign for March. They are asking for socks for kids ages 7–14 (small adult size). The socks need to be at least 75% wool.
        2. All year we have been making things for Afghans for Afghanistan, Children in Common, Christ Child Society, Brothers Helpers, Stitches From the Heart, Children’s Hospital and other local hospitals, and miscellaneous other charities. In addition, just the last few months we as a group have donated the following items:
        Pasadena Women's Shelter Luncheon: 16 scarves and 10 hats for homeless women
        Local Hospital Babies: 85 holiday hats (red, green, white)
        Knots of Love: 26 chemo caps
        Operation Gratitude: 27 scarves and 37 hats for our troops
What a work of love, sacrifice, and kindness this is! Thank you all for your amazing generosity.
    D. NICU Field Trip Reschedule    Kimberly Smith, JCK Member & NICU Nurse
        1. The field trip to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at L.A. County USC Medical Center Children’s Hospital will be rescheduled for Saturday, January 23 at 10:00am.
        2. We are collecting items to deliver that day at the December and January meetings. Items needed are booties, tube socks, hats, and blankets, all in preemie or newborn size. The items should be machine washable soft acrylic.
        3. Because parking at the hospital is limited, we will arrange 2 or more car pools to leave from the parking lot on Florencita behind The Black Cow Restaurant in the Montrose Shopping Park. Becky Goodman and Mary Kaye Busalacchi volunteered to drive.
        4. A sign-up sheet and maps will be available at the January meeting.

    E. White Elephant Gifts    Judy Gregory and Cindy Vogel
        1. Judy and Cindy designed and conducted an excellent variation of our traditional White Elephant Gift Exchange game.
        2. Each person drew a number but had to decipher a knitting or computer abbreviation. Then each participant got to draw from a goodie bag of yarn before picking the white elephant gift and opening it. It was fun and different.
