7:05 pm: Holiday Greetings Judy Gregory, Vice President 16 members were present plus 4 family guests plus 4 visitors (Evelyn's students).
A. Announcements Members
1. Judy announced the Holiday Cookie Party being held by JCK to thank Sparr Heights Community Center for their generosity in allowing us the use of their facility for our meetings. The party will be Monday, December 10, from 10:30-12:30. We will provide cookies for those who come to have lunch at the Center that day. Some of the cookies will be put in baggies to give to those who have to leave immediately after the lunch. JCK members willing to bake cookies/and or work at the event can sign up on the sheet.
2. There was some question as to when the January meeting will be, since it normally should fall on January 2. Some members wont be able to come that night. Judy will talk to Evelyn about requesting from Sparr Heights Center that we change it to January 9. An email update will be sent later on.
B. Philanthropy Judy Gregory, VP Philanthropy
1. Kimberly Smith is a neonatal intensive care nurse at L.A. County Hospital, and in January she will bring measurements so that members can make booties, blankets, hats, etc., for the preemies in her unit.
2. Michelle Tang collected the mittens made by our members for her friends project of sending mittens to church missions in New York City for the children there for the holidays. Since the meeting, Michelle has mailed 16 pairs of mittens.
