Minutes:
    7:10pm: Meeting Called to Order   Evelyn Van Orden, President    19 members were present plus 1 new member.
    A. Approval of Minutes    Marsha Stoddard, Secretary
        1. Minutes of the October 6 General Meeting were posted on the website and a hardcopy provided at the meeting. They were approved.
    B. Thanks for Treats    Cathy Wacker, Hospitality
        1. Cathy thanked Janice Ogata and Deborah Kac for the yummy treats.
    C. Treasurer's Report    Jerri Nicol, Treasurer
        1. Evelyn reported that the balance in our treasury is $908.73 (no change since last month).
    D. Announcements    Members

        1. Evelyn introduced a visitor, Katie Talifierro, who is a friend of Olga Martinez.
        2. Heather told us that her friend Michelle Connolly, who visited in October, delivered her baby last week, a boy.
        3. Judy Gregory announced that the 100^th edition of “Knitters’ Magazine” is available locally as well as online. It is a beautiful double issue and is worth having. Because it is the anniversary issue, it is free online, although downloading it creates a giant file. The magazine is issued quarterly, and this is the Fall issue.
        4. Jerri Thomson and Mary Kaye Busalachi took many hats to Knots of Love for the end of the knitting relay. Our group made and donated a total of 98 hats for the relay! Jerri, Mary Kaye, and Deborah all collected and turned in money that had been donated by our group and their various outside contacts for this relay. It was a total of $953!! What a great effort many people made for this charity! Thanks to all of you who participated.
    E. Philanthropy    Judy Gregory, VP Philanthropy
        1. Judy reported that she sent a box of 17 pairs of wool socks to Afghans for Afghanistan. Afghans is collecting sweaters, vests, and socks for ages 7 – 16 to be delivered to schools. The deadline is the January meeting.
        2. Marsha said that the deadline for hats and scarves for Operation Gratitude is the December meeting, as that organization puts together the care packages and ships them off to the troops the following week If you have questions, contact Marsha: stoddard@pacbell.net.
        3. Betty Molinaro collects our handmade baby things all year for Christ Child Society, a group that packs up layettes for poor families, unwed mothers, etc. They always include a handmade item.
        4. We decided to make red, red/white, or green baby hats of all sizes for Kimberly’s Children’s hospital this holiday season. The hats will be collected at the December meeting.
        5. Jerri Thomson reported that she will be setting up a display case at the Eagle Rock Library on Caspar St. in Eagle Rock. This case will display various handmade items from our group and indicate the charities to which we donate. The items will be on display starting November 27 through the month of December in a locked case. Iems will be returned to us at the January meeting. This will be good publicity for our group.
    F. Holiday Potluck Party    Evelyn Van Orden
        1. The 8^th Annual JCK Holiday Potluck Party will be held Wednesday, December 1 from 6:30-9:00pm. We will start at 6:30, earlier than usual, and begin setting up for it at 6:00.
        2. We should each bring a food dish to share. Evelyn passed around a sheet to sign up for our choice.
        3. Judy Gregory will again be in charge of the White Elephant gift exchange. We are to bring a wrapped item from home. Please don’t go buy something new. The gifts can be silly or unusual or whatever thing we don’t want or need any more.
        4. We can bring guests to the party, but please let Evelyn know and bring a gift for them so that all of us can participate.
