    A. Minutes    Marsha Stoddard
        1. Minutes of the May meeting were posted on the website and a hardcopy was available for review. They were approved.
    B. Treasurer's Report    Marsha Stoddard for J

        1. Jerri was out of town but reported to Marsha that the balance in our treasury is $932.57
    C. Announcements     Members
        1. Marsha announced that Lee McIntyre and Lynne Emery have both recently had knee surgery and are home recuperating. Members requested that JCK send cards to them.
        2. Cathy Wacker thanked Betty Molinaro and Diane Larsen for the yummy treats and presented a new sign-up list for those wishing to pick a date to bring either sweets or munchies.
        3. Several members reported that Needle in a Haystack has 30% off everything in their store through Saturday, June 14.
        4. Evelyn found out from a staff person just before our meeting that the City of
Glendale is suffering from budget cuts and will no longer let us use the Sparr Heights facility for free. The room in which we currently meet normally costs $80 per hour! The room across the hall costs $40 per hour. Evelyn will talk to the director to see if anything can be worked out or if we can get a discount. She asked us to think of any other facilities where we could meet cheaply. Cathy Wacker will approach her church (Methodist Church in Montrose) about possibly meeting there.
    D. Philanthropy    Judy Gregory, VP Philanthropy
        1. Judy recently sent a large box of items to Afghans for Afghans that included socks, hats, baby things, etc.
        2. Marion Green reminded us about Operation Gratitude, which collects and distributes care packages for our troops to lift their morale. They request dark-colored handmade scarves and hats. Acrylic is fine for making them. We can include a personal note, if desired. The next collection deadline for these items is November. Their website is:
       3. Judy said that Stitches from the Heart shop in Santa Monica has changed owners. The shop will still be a receiving/sending center for items for Stitches but will have a different owner for the retail portion of the shop.
