    7:05 pm: Meeting Called to Order    Evelyn Van Orden, President    24 members were present plus 3 new members.
    A. Minutes    Marsha Stoddard
        1. Minutes of the March meeting were posted on the website and a hardcopy was available for review. They were approved.
    B. Treasurer's Report

        1. The balance in our treasury is still $932.57
    C. Announcements     Members
        1. Evelyn and Judy sent patterns to Kraemer Yarn Company to be offered on their website for free. In return, the company sent free cotton/acrylic yarn for charity knitting. Judy had it available for those who wish to make 20” X 20” blankets for our member Kimberly’s Neonatal Unit at Children’s Hospital.
        2. Evelyn brought more from her yarn stash for members to use for charity knitting.
        3. Jennifer Minzey and Michelle Bernal talked about Knit for the Cure, which took place at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, March 15. Between that event and a few other boutiques and events elsewhere, so far this year they have raised over $3000 for the Komen Foundation. In the last 4 years, since Michelle started the event, over $21,000 has been raised!! Michelle also announced that they hope to hold another Knit in the City. That event may be in October at the
Pasadena Memorial Park and will involve vendors, a fashion show, knitting demonstrations, etc. The last time this event took place, JCK had a table there to sell our handmade items.
        4. Cathy Wacker thanked Michelle Tang and herself for the delicious treats.
    D. Philanthropy    Judy Gregory, VP Philanthropy
        1. Judy announced that Children in Common (CIC) recently finished their drive for sweaters and socks. They sent 320 sweaters/vests and 113 pairs of socks. Judy sent a box of our things to be included, which amounted to 9 pairs of socks and 1 vest. Judy also said that Afghans for Afghanistan has a new deadline in May for wool infant hats for a neonatal hospital.
        2. Betty Molinaro and Jerri N. took all the baby items that they have collected this past year to the Christ Child Society gathering. They took 163 items from our group – 6 bags!! They received a thank you note for our group.

        1. Michelle gave us instructions and demonstrated the technique on turning a 5” X 5” knitted square into a cute little stuffed bunny.
