Minutes:
    7:10pm: Meeting Called to Order    Evelyn Van Orden, President    16 members were present, plus 1 new member.
    A. Approval of Minutes    Marsha Stoddard
        1. The minutes of the December Holiday Potluck were posted on the website and a hardcopy provided at the meeting. They were approved.
    B. Thanks for Treats    Cathy Wacker
        1. Cathy thanked Diane Larsen and herself for the yummy treats.
    C. Treasurer's Report    Jerri Nicol
        1. The balance in our treasury is $908.73 (no change since last month).
    D. Announcements    Members

        1. Judy Gregory will be maintaining the Kraemer yarn website and will be asking for advice and help with patterns in the future. There will be more details coming later.
        2. Congratulations to Cathy on the birth of a granddaughter!
        3. Thank you to Evelyn and Judy for a great Christmas party and White Elephant Gift Exchange.
        4. The field trip to Kimberly’s NICU is Saturday, January 23 at 10 a.m. Carpools will meet behind the Black Cow Restaurant in Montrose at 9 and leave at 9:15. Everyone will meet at the steps of the NICU at 10. Thank you to Kimberly for arranging for the tour.
        5. Thanks to Becky for taking minutes for January!
    E. Philanthropy    Judy Gregory, VP Philanthropy
        1. Judy announced that Afghans for Afghanistan will be sending items in March for children aged 7–14, such as vests, hats, sweaters, and blankets. These items should be wool only.
        2. Judy brought yarn for charity projects.
        3. Cathy Wacker will accept scarves, hats, etc. for adults and children for the homeless shelter in Pasadena run by Covenant Church.
        4. Jerri Thomson announced that she sent 26 caps donated by our group in December to Knots of Love. She also read a thank you note from the founder of Knots of Love. Measuring tapes were sent for our group as a thank you for the donations. KOL takes hats made for adults only out of specific yarn – see their website.
    F. NICU Field Trip    Kimberly Smith, JCK Member & NICU Nurse
        1. The field trip to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at L.A. County USC Medical Center Children’s Hospital will be Saturday, January 23 at 10:00am.
        2. Carpools will meet behind the Black Cow Restaurant in Montrose at 9:00 and leave at 9:15. Everyone will meet at the steps of the NICU at 10:00.
        3. Thank you to Kimberly for arranging for the tour – we are looking forward to it!
