Judy reported that Children in Common (CIC) is asking for socks for orphanages in Russia. This month the focus is on larger children, so the foot length needs to be 6”-10”. CIC also always takes smaller-sized socks, as well as children’s mittens. Items need to be made out of yarn that is at least 85% wool.

Michelle Bernal announced that the Knit for the Cure is scheduled for Sunday, February 25. It is held at the Rose Bowl during the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. JCK has been asked to help sell handmade scarves and hats, and the proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. We will be needed from around 8 until 11:30 a.m. to set up, sell, and clean up. This will be the third year we have participated, and it is a fun time. A sign-up sheet will be available at the February meeting. Last year so many hats and scarves were donated that we don’t need to make any more for this year.
