Community Knitting Saturdays
I've spoken with a few JCK members about planning Sat Community Knitting days. Community Knitting is what we do BEST these days.
My sister visited over Spring Break and did a bunch of hats for JCK. We've added some local groups that want donations--City of Hope and Christ Child. I'm very proud of the work our little group has turned out.
We used to meet at the Citibank room on Sat and it gave us a chance to spend the day together. It might accomodate some members who have a difficult time attending the Wed night JCK meetings.
Let me know if there is interst and if you would like Citibank, or if another location is available. I propose scheduling a Saturday every 2 months or so, but am open to ideas.

Re: Community Knitting Saturdays
I like the idea. Barbara has been wanting to meet sometime at Penelope's in La Canada. Depending on the numbers who participate, that might be an option. Haven't been there myself but Barbara loves it. Don't know if it could accommodate 20 people, however. Discussing it at the next Guild meeting is a great idea.

Re: Community Knitting Saturdays
I think it's a wonderful idea. I miss when we used to do "Painted Turtle." I feel like when we got together in the Citibank room on a Saturday we all got a chance to know each other better. I would be interesting in attending.

Re: Community Knitting Saturdays
Since my new schedule is making the wednesday night meetings hard to make I would love to attend a Saturday knit event.

Re: Community Knitting Saturdays
I miss Painted Turtle, too. I'd definitely try to make if for a Saturday Knit Day every once in a while.

Re: Community Knitting Saturdays
The Painted Turtle Saturdays at Montrose Citibank were fun and very relaxing - no agenda, just talking and knitting. Would love to attend a Knitting Saturday.

Re: Community Knitting Saturdays
I've tentatively booked the Citibank room for Sat July 15 and Sat Aug 19. That gives us enough time to make plans, and 2 days to aim for. I'm sure some people will be busy with vacations and other activities, but I hope those are good days and we will be able to chat and knit for charity.

Re: Community Knitting Saturdays
I think the Saturday Community knitting gatherings sound like fun. Since I'm new to group, what do they consist of? Meeting at either Citibank or Penelope's would be great!
